TCH JCB Takes Part in Football Fundraising Fun!

TC Harrison JCB were proud to be a part of Pulse Hire Ltd’s recent charity 5-a-side football tournament. Not only did we field a team of keen players, we also threw our support behind this fantastic event as a sponsor.

Our team was made up of familiar TCH favourites in the form of talented goalkeeper Alex “Safe Hands” Alcock, Alan Waterhouse, JCB’s Ed Price, Jamie “Banger” Flint, all heroically captained on the pitch by Steve Slyziak. Team TCH JCB were managed by our very own Arron “Mike Bassett” Wiblin.

Shaky Start to Semi-Final Showdown

The group stages weren’t our finest hour. We started off a little rusty, however a quick stretch of the legs and brushing off of the cobwebs allowed us to reach our full potential. As the competition progressed, our skills improved and we found our rhythm.

Our key moment of success came in the quarter-finals, We took on tournament favourites “Christian ‘Pulse’ic” and pulled through victorious, advancing to the next round. Unfortunately, our winning streak ended in the semi-finals against a strong “Peaky/Symmy” team.

But we’ll happily take finishing 3rd out of 13 teams with no substitutions through the whole day as a win!

Charity Wins Big!

The real victory, of course, goes to the amazing charities supported by the tournament. A huge congratulations to the cup winners “One Nil Up(hires)” for raising a fantastic £5,800 for Nelson’s Journey (https://nelsonsjourney.org.uk/), and to “Pulse Predators” for donating £2,500 to Mind (https://www.mind.org.uk/).

The atmosphere was electric all day, filled with friendly competition and a shared drive to give back. We at TCH JCB are incredibly proud to have been a part of this event, organised brilliantly by Samantha Kynaston at Pulse Hire Ltd. It’s a testament to the power of teamwork, sportsmanship, and the positive impact businesses can have on the community.
