JCB Intellisense: Keeping Construction Sites Safer
Construction sites can be dangerous places, with moving vehicles being a major hazard for pedestrians. JCB Intellisense is a new technology designed to address this issue, helping to prevent accidents and keep workers safe.
How Intellisense Works
The technology uses a combination of cameras and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect pedestrians around the machine. The system features four cameras:
- Three AI-powered cameras: Two side-mounted and one rear-facing
- One standard forward-facing camera to improve the operator’s view
These cameras work together to create a 360-degree awareness zone around the machine. When the system detects a pedestrian entering this pre-set zone, it triggers both audible and visual warnings:
- Inside the cabin, the operator will receive an alert.
- Outside the machine, alarms and flashing lights will warn pedestrians of potential danger.
Initial Availability
JCB Intellisense is currently available as an optional feature on two Loadall telescopic handler models: the 540-140 and the 535-125. This technology represents a significant advancement in safety for construction sites, and it’s likely to be adopted on more JCB models in the future.
Using camera technology, JCB Intellisense offers a valuable tool for improving construction site safety. This system can help prevent accidents and keep workers safe, providing peace of mind for both operators and pedestrians
