JCB and Monster Jam Partnership
Partnership Overview
JCB has struck up a partnership with Monster Jam®, a live motorsport event tour operated by Feld Entertainment. The collaboration involves the addition of a new truck design to the fleet of monster trucks, the JCB DIGatron. The new truck was designed in conjunction with JCB’s engineering team and takes inspiration from iconic JCB construction equipment. Taking the wheel of the DIGatron will be reigning Monster Jam World Finals® Racing champion Tristian England.
The DIGatron will debut at Monster Jam in January at the Alamodome in San Antonio, which fittingly is the city for the new JCB factory. The partnership will also give opportunities for JCB to successfully connect with their customers in more than 100 markets globally each year. In addition to this, JCB will also be providing equipment to support track construction at selected Monster Jam events, as well as offering a JCB 457 wheel loader for recovery purposes.
JCB DIGatron
Showing stylistic inspiration from the iconic JCB Backhoe Loader, the DIGatron pays homage to the legendary JCB brand throughout. The red driver’s seat featured in the truck was taken from the original equipment’s red interior seats and was designed in connection with the JCB equipment design team and Feld Motor Sports.
The Monster Jam powertrain present in the truck will generate an explosive 1500 horsepower, thanks to a supercharger that forces air and fuel into the engine. The DIGatron stands at an impressive 10.5 feet tall, 12.5 feet wide, 17 feet long and weighs a whopping 12,000 pounds.
A Family Affair
Feld Entertainment stated that the reason they wanted to partnership with JCB was because of the family values that the company holds. The daughter of JCB chairman Lord Bamford, Alice Bamford, said that her son Otis had a hand in the design of the DIGatron and is a huge Monster Jam fan.
