Wetherby Tool and Plant Hire Expands JCB E-Tech Range
Last year, Yorkshire-based Wetherby Tool and Plant Hire became one of the first to take delivery of the highly-anticipated Electric JCB 8008E mini digger. The machine, provided by TC Harrison JCB, is the latest addition to JCB’s zero-tailpipe emission lineup, known as the E-Tech range.
Weighing just 875kg, this compact 0.8‑tonne machine is built to deliver high performance in the tightest spaces, whether that’s inside buildings, around rear gardens, or on busy construction sites. Its clever design packs in increased digging forces, impressive lift capacity for larger attachments, and an extending undercarriage that boosts stability while offering class‑leading dig depth and reach.
Operators benefit from exceptional leg room and simple, intuitive controls, helping maximise productivity throughout the day. With a 9.9kWh battery providing enough power for a typical full shift, plus both 110V and 230V charging options, the 8008E is engineered for convenience as well as capability.
The 8008E has slotted seamlessly into Wetherby Tool and Plant Hire’s operations. The purchase was completed after the company received enquiries about electric JCB machinery, due to its ability to work inside buildings efficiently and effectively. The current 8008E in the fleet has successfully been used in a multitude of jobs, displaying the machine’s adaptability.
