Upon successfully completing the 3 year training program, apprentices will qualify with an NVQ3.

We are actively recruiting Apprentices to join our Engineering Team at Alfreton

Alfreton is a town in Derbyshire. Alfreton has a rich history, and is even said to have been founded by King Alfred the Great. The TC Harrison JCB Alfreton depot is newly refurbished and is home to a friendly team who are on hand to help from anything from parts and servicing to sales and aftersales. The depot is located nearby the A38.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Be proficient in the diagnosis of faults, repairs and equipment testing thereafter.

Record all work done and report any faults not corrected.

 

INDIVIDUAL KEY OBJECTIVES

♣ To attend any training both on-site and at Depot deemed relevant as necessary experience for the position of Service Engineer

♣ To attend college as and when necessary to obtain suitable academic qualifications necessary for the position of Service Engineer

♣ To ensure that all work is completed within specified time frames and in the company of a qualified Service Engineer

♣ To maintain acceptable levels of quality set out by the company

♣ To ensure that full authority is obtained before undertaking any work

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

♣ To ensure that safety standards are maintained

♣ To ensure all due care is given to the company and customers’ property

♣ To obtain necessary parts from the parts department

♣ To assist where applicable in the effective repair and test of machinery

♣ To accurately complete and sign off all job cards, giving a full description of work carried out

♣ To maintain acceptable standards of discipline

♣ To advise the supervisor when completion times cannot be met

♣ Where necessary discuss vehicle concerns directly with the customer
